Royal Leamington Spa

The historical regency town of Royal Leamington Spa is only 4 miles away and is certainly worth a visit. Guests will find an abundance of top quality restaurants, bars, bistros and cafés; some fabulous boutiques and glamorous clothing shops; and may enjoy a stroll around the beautiful Jephson Gardens on the banks of the River Leam. A little further afield but still only 6 miles away is the historic town of Warwick; packed with history and interesting features and attractions, guests will be able to visit and explore Warwick Castle and its grounds, as well as the lovely St Nicholas Park alongside the River Avon where they may wish to take a boat ride.

Shakespeare’s Stratford

Shakespeare’s Stratford- upon-Avon is only a 25-minute drive away, and once again is a must see for guests of all ages, with the opportunity to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. Perfect for a theatre break, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre is open all year round and puts on a fabulous production.

Shopping

There is great shopping in Leamington Spa, Stratford, Cheltenham, Bicester Designer Outlet Village, Woodstock and Oxford; not to mention the market town of Banbury. Leamington Spa is particularly popular for its small individual shops.

The countryside and villages

There are lovely walks from the Cottage ranging from a half hour stroll around the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve just down the lane; to wider ranging circular walks to local villages.
Within half an hour’s drive guests will be able to visit the Cotswolds where there are a multitude of walks for every level and a wealth of beautiful Cotswold stone villages.

The Outdoors

The cottage is also ideal for guests who enjoy walking, rambling or cycling, there are many public footpaths which pass through the village and lead through some of the most glorious countryside to the nearby towns and villages. Just a 5-minute walk away is Ufton Fields Nature Reserve managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust where guests might be able to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife, including deer and rare orchids. Fabulous for bird watchers too, there are some well-positioned hides offering guests a great opportunity to watch many of the different species here in their natural habitat.

There is an excellent pub and restaurant in the village, the White Hart Inn is just ¼ mile down the lane.
